Jorn Lyseggen is the Founder of SHACK15 a social club for entrepreneurs and innovators in San Francisco. He is a 5x tech bootstrapper, has 3 exits and 2 IPOs. Jorn started his last company Meltwater with $15,000 USD and grew it to $125m in revenue and expanded into 15 countries without raising any external funding. Today, Meltwater is the global leader in media intelligence and serves 27,000 corporate clients in 110 countries and has 2000 employees and 50 offices across the world. Jorn also founded the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST Africa), a pan-African training program for aspiring African entrepreneurs. In 2016, Lyseggen received The Europa Hall of Fame Award for his contributions to the European startup ecosystem. In 2021, he was named “Top 50 Most Influential People in the African Startup Ecosystem” for his leadership, mentorship and investment on the continent. Jorn also wrote the book Outside Insight: Navigating a World Drowning in Data (Penguin Random House 2017) highlighting the untapped forward-looking signals in the unstructured information found on the internet. Jorn is a Norwegian citizen, started his career as a research scientist in artificial intelligence at the Norwegian Computing Center. He earned a bachelor degree in electrical engineering from Bergen College of Engineering, a Master of Science in electrical engineering from Iowa State University and a distinction in financial strategy from Oxford Said Business School.
