Shirin Ghaffary

Shirin Ghaffary is a reporter for Bloomberg News covering artificial intelligence. She writes about how AI is shaking up industries, raising new ethical debates and forcing regulators around the world to play catchup, including in her weekly newsletter, Q&AI. Previously, Ghaffary was a senior tech correspondent at Vox Media and Recode, where she worked for over six years. Prior to that, she's worked at TechCrunch, the San Francisco Chronicle, and BuzzFeed News. She's co-hosted two seasons of Vox Media's award-winning Land of the Giants podcast, and appeared as a regular guest on major news networks such as NPR, CNN, and CBS. Ghaffary was raised in Silicon Valley, went to UC Berkeley, and spent several years in her early 20s working at a small enterprise software company — so she knows what it's like working in the startup industry firsthand.
