Philip Johnston
Co-Founder and CEO, Starcloud
Philip is the Co-founder and CEO of Starcloud, which is building data centers in space to address the AI energy challenge. Starcloud was formed in early 2024, and will launch the first Nvidia H100 to space in November 2025, around 100x more powerful GPU compute than has been operated in space before. Starcloud is backed by Y Combinator, Nvidia, and In-Q-Tel, and raised a $21M seed at the end of 2024.
Philip is a second-time founder who previously also spent time at McKinsey & Company, working on satellite projects for national space agencies. Philip holds an MPA in National Security & Technology from Harvard University, an MBA from Wharton, an MA in Applied Mathematics & Theoretical Physics from Columbia University, and is a CFA Charterholder.
