Rodrigo Liang

Rodrigo Liang is the Co-Founder and CEO of SambaNova, a company developing advanced AI infrastructure. SambaNova provides a full-stack AI platform with efficient, low-power computing designed to accelerate open-source models at scale.

With over 20 years of experience in semiconductor engineering, Rodrigo previously led teams at Sun Microsystems and Oracle, where he focused on building high-performance processors for enterprise systems. He began his career at Hewlett-Packard and holds MS and BS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.

Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, Rodrigo was raised in Brazil and studied in Germany. His international background and interest in technology inspired the company's name—SambaNova, meaning "New Dance" in Portuguese—reflecting its goal to enable faster, more effective innovation in AI.
